Avelar Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
Avelar Abdominoplasty uses tumescent liposuction in combination with excess skin removal for better contour of the body. Faster Recovery, less down-time.
This method allows the removal of excess skin with less cutting than the traditional tummy tuck. Complications are greatly reduced, because blood vessels and tissue layers under the skin are left largely intact. With the added benefit of liposuction, more fat can typically be removed than with a traditional abdominoplasty procedure.
CONSULTATION
After arriving at the clinic, you will be asked to fill out a few forms with information about your medical history and desires for your new body image. You will meet Dr. Janho and his assistant to discuss your goals for your new body. You will be asked to disrobe, and will receive a full physical examination.
During this exam, Dr. Janho will evaluate your bone structure, skin elasticity, medical abnormalities, muscle tone, distribution of fat, and scarring tendencies. In addition, it is important to assess precious liposuction performed to plan a successful outcome.
The exam will consist of gentle pinching, and you will have the opportunity to bring attention to any concerns you may have with your body. Once the physical exam is complete, you will get dressed and discuss recommended procedures. Any questions will be answered by the doctor at this time. You will then meet with the patient coordinator to discuss pricing. Bella Forma Cosmetic Surgery Center does not believe in hidden fees. Your quote will be all inclusive meaning that there will not be additional charges for blood work, garments, or prescription drugs. In addition, your fee will include a series of 10 lymphatic drainage massages, which are crucial to your recovery.
RECOVERY
Your long incision will be covered with a special tape that should always be left alone and only touched and removed by our staff. You can blot dry with a dry towel but DO NOT remove tape. Selected small incisions from the Liposuction will be left opened in order to drain the tumescent solution. You will drain a blood colored fluid for 24-72 hours after your surgery, with minimal draining continuing for a week. This is normal, and beneficial to your body to get rid of this fluid. You will want some thick overnight maxi pads to put inside your garment to absorb the fluid as it drains from your body. You will sleep a lot, have a decreased appetite, and should drink as much water as tolerated.
The next day, you will take your garment off while in a sitting position. Your garment should be laundered, and you should shower normally. Pat your body dry and put your garment back on with pads placed inside over your draining incisions. Then, you will return to the clinic for your first lymphatic drainage massage where you will be drained internally and externally. Massage is crucial to molding the body, and easing your recovery.
